ALAN C. OLSON: A long-term disability claim usually arises from an injury or disease. And when our client's insurance carrier refuses to pay their disability benefits, that's when they contact us.

To substantiate our client's long-term disability claim, we will first go through all of the treating doctor's records. And then we will order a separate independent medical examination. Typically, we will order a functional capacity evaluation and also retain a vocational expert. And all of those items dovetail together to substantiate our client's disability.

At the end of the day, what our client wants is to win their case. And what we offer is a global strategy as opposed to a tactic. A tactic is something that a lawyer uses on the short term. We use tactics like all lawyers. However, we base that on the global strategy that we've developed from day one.
